My Review Of The Xbox Elite Series 2 Wireless Controller By Microsoft After 1 Year Of Use

Video games are so much fun that today they are a billion-dollar market. They have come a long way since the days of Sega Genisis, Super Nintendo and Playstation 1. Nowadays to have a fully immersive and amazing experience there are some key factors that needs to be implemented.

1) A good compelling and immersive story
2) Excellent in-game controls
3) Amazing 4K graphics with HDR and raytracing
4) At least 60 frames per second with g-sync or freesync
5) Dolby Atmos, DTS X, 5.1 Dolby Digital or 7.1 DTS surround sound
6) Dedicated online servers with very low ping and no lag in competitive online multiplayer
7) A top of the line 27 inch or 32 inch monitor with an input lag of 5 milliseconds or lower
8) A 55 inch or greater television with under 20 milliseconds of input lag
9) Some great downloadable content (DLC)
10) Lastly equally very important, the controller in your hands

Throughout my years of playing video games, I owned the Sega Dreamcast, the original Xbox, the Xbox One S, the Xbox 360, the Gamecube, the Super Nintendo and the Playstation 1, 2 and 3 and my current console the Xbox Series X. Out of all these consoles, only the Playstation and Xbox One S controllers were near perfection. The biggest offenders are the Super Nintendo controller since that controller does not fit the shape of a person hands and the Dreamcast controller makes your middle finger hurt while holding it since the room to hold it from the back is narrow.

I’ve been using the Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller for about a year and I can clearly say that this is the best gaming controller ever made so far. It is a little bit heavier and more than double the price of the regular Xbox One controller. Nonetheless when holding it for the first time you can feel its premium build.

Furthermore, the light of the power button in the middle of the regular Xbox One controller was so bright and distracting when playing at night that I end up buying some light dims stickers to cover it up. With the Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller this was not an issue since the light of the power button could be dimmed to my liking by accessing the settings of the controller APP.

After almost 1 year of using it on a regular basis I can happily report that nothing was broken. I have not yet experienced any joystick drifting issues or any rubber grip peeling. The only issue I have noted is that in the earlier months of playing with it, the controller disconnected a couple of times while playing a Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 which was very frustrating. Now I believe this was a firmware issue since it did not occur recently.

Nonetheless the Xbox Elite Series 2 wireless controller is not perfect so below I noted some improvements that should be made to make it perfect.

7 improvements that should be implemented to the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller

1) Compatible with PC and other consoles
2) Available in different and customable sizes to maximize the comfort
3) Available in other colors and customable themes
4) Additional back buttons should support skipping music while using the background music player APP
5) Must have a removable battery to increase its longevity
6) Button and trigger feedback technology same as the PS5 controller
7) Better grip on the removable joysticks

If I had to currently rate the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, I would give it a strong 8.5 out of 10. Whenever the 7 improvements listed above are implemented by Microsoft then the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller will automatically deserve 10 out of 10. I have not yet hold and tested the Playstation 5 controller but from what I heard many people are reporting joysticks drifting issues within the first months.

At 180$ USD (220 CAD), the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller is very expensive. Considering that the new Xbox Series S cost 300$ USD, you are getting into console pricing territory when considering purchasing this controller.

So, is the steep price tag worth it?

After using it for almost a year, the precision in control I get is unmatched since you can adjust the stiffness of the joysticks. So yes, I would say that it is worth every penny but I did not pay full price for my Xbox Elite Series 2 controller. I bought it 90$ less in very good condition thanks to Amazon Warehouse Deals.

100% Honest Review of VANKYO Performance V630 Native 1080P Movie Projector – Read this before you buy this projector!

Before going into the review, I want to tell you exactly where I am coming from. My first TV was a 20-inch CRT for my bedroom. Afterwards I owned 40-inch widescreen Samsung LCD TV for my living room. Going from a 19 CRT to a 40-inch LCD felt big at the time because my 40-inch LCD felt like having a 32-inch CRT if you take the vertical size into account. I was content with it and told myself that I was going to buy a new TV only when it no longer works.

4 years ago, I bought a 55-inch LG OLED TV. I was blown away at the picture quality mainly because I was staring at my 12-year-old Samsung for so long! I remember watching a scene from Resident Evil and the HDR along with the wide color gamut made the water droplets on the street and on the top of the cars popped. I was so blown away that my only regret was that I did not get a 65-inch screen or better yet the 77-inch version which was the biggest OLED size back in 2016. The 77 inches was only a possible dream because at the time it cost 18,000 USD. Going from a 40 to a 55 inch was very noticeable. The first few months I was very pleased with the increased field of view.

Now fast forward to the present in 2020 and OLED prices have dropped significantly and I wanted something way bigger. I was thinking about getting a 65 inch but I told myself that its just a tiny increase in screen size. I was looking at the 77-inch LG C9 OLED TV which in the span of 4 years the price dropped massively only costing 6,000 USD.

Going from a 55 to 77 inch would have been jaw dropping but 2 things stopped be from getting it:

The first thing was that I end up getting a burn-in image on my LG B6 from playing Black Ops 4 too much.

The second thing was that the price gap between a 65 and 77 inch is massive.

I could easily buy two 65-inch C9 OLED TV for the price of a single 77 C9 OLED. I could also buy a cheaper 77-inch LCD but I end up telling myself why not go bigger. That’s when the projectors came into play.

So, I decided to buy a 120-inch Silver Ticket white material screen and a budget projector just to get a little taste. I choose the VANKYO Performance V630 because it was recommended by a Youtuber that I was fallowing. Now prior to buying the Vankyo I had my eyes on the Optoma GT1080HDR. Now for some odd reason there was only one guy on the entire Youtube who gave his opinion on the Optoma GT1080HDR across 5 videos. Nevertheless, there was a flood of people who reviewed and gave positive opinions the VANKYO Performance V630. Is it because budget projectors are more popular and get searched for more often or is there an incentive for the reviews?

Well, after opening the box of the Vankyo V630, there was a card on top of the projector that incentivised the buyer to leave a positive review online. Once the review has been verified, in return reviewer can choose to get a 50$ Amazon Gift Card, a tripod projector stand, a cheap cloth projector screen or a Fire Stick. But this could be just a coincidence, right? What about what I think?

The big selling points of the Vankyo V630 are the facts that it is a native 1080p projector for the price of 230$ (with 40$ off coupon from Amazon) and it has vertical and horizontal keystone corrections. The way I had things setup was that I had my Xbox One S plugged into my Denon receiver and the output of the receiver plugged into the Vankyo V630 projector with a 25 feet HDMI with ethernet cable. Now the first thing that I’ve noticed is that the picture quality was a shock and really overly saturated especially coming from looking at an OLED TV for 4 years. I did a little research and used a recommended Picture Mode User Settings from a Youtuber;

Contrast: 60
Brightness: 46
Color: 55
Sharpness: 45

Regardless the colors were still saturated when looking at the Xbox One Dashboard. My 15-year-old Samsung TV had better color vibrancy and accuracy. If only I could get the projector to look somewhat close to my old Samsung TV since I cannot be expecting OLED quality at that price point!

At first, I watched a couple of things from the Netflix app on my Xbox One S. Resident Evil Extinction looked as if I was watching a VCD (not even DVD quality). On the other hand, I watched season 3 of the animated Castlevania and the picture quality was DECENT. I also watch one episode of the 1993 Star Trek: The Next Generation and Transformers: Bumble Bee and it was also DECENT. Now, notice that I used the word DECENT and not OUTSTANDING or PHENOMENAL like I did for the OLED because I am not quite sure what to think since this is after all my first projector. A budget projector at that. And yes, I do frequently go watch movies in the movie theater but those are professional projectors and screens which are in the 10 of thousands.

Additionally, the image on the screen looked washed out during the day when there is sunlight coming in the room because my Silver Ticket screen is just a white screen and not a ambient light rejecting screen. I picked a white screen because the colors pop more compared to a grey screen. I end up buying some blackout curtains which greatly fixed this issue for day time watching. Nonetheless at night is when this projector really shines.

Finally, I did 2 things which made the picture quality close to my 15 year old Samsung TV and fixed the color saturation issue.

1) The first thing I did was I upgraded my Netflix subscription to the most expansive plan which support 4K.

2) The second thing I did to fix the color saturation issue was that I changed the aspect ratio from Auto to Point To Point and increased the contrast to 74.

From that point the picture quality went from DECENT to GOOD (FOR A PROJECTOR AT THAT PRICE POINT) WITH AN ASTERIX. The Asterix in question was the fact the picture got dimmer and the colors were less vibrant. If only those 2 negative things did not occur I would of been a very happy camper!

CONS

1) The fan noise is noticeable when the room is quiet since it measured 65 decibels if you are right next to it and 51 decibels if you are 30 centimeters away. But once a movie is playing there is no big issue. The noise is mostly noticeable when the projector is located on the left side of your ear. Nonetheless if the Vankyo V630 is located behind you or above your head, the noise will greatly be minimised. Even better if it is mounted on the ceiling, the noise won’t be an issue at all.

2) Another negative thing that I noticed is that it is impossible to get a 100% clear picture with the keystone correction when the Vankyo V630 is placed at an angle. No matter if it is located at the right side or left side of the room. The projector is placed 10 feet away from the screen on the left side beside my couch. At that distance I was able to get an 85-inch image. One edge of the screen was sharp and the other was blurry.

The only way I was able to fix this issue was relocating the Vankyo V630 projector behind my couch so that it could directly face the center of the screen. All picture edges became clear and sharper. The blurriness was 95% gone.

3) Another thing to keep in mind is that the input lag when casually playing online games and offline games was VERY VERY VERY NOTICEABLE. At first, I told myself that this must be due to the fact that the Vankyo V630 is plugged from my receiver with a 25 feet HDMI cable with ethernet. So I decided to plug the Vankyo V630 with the short HDMI cable that came with my Xbox One S console to see if this was the cause of the problem. The horrible input lag was still there nonetheless I noticed that the color accuracy was a little better when watching Netflix.

The only way I was able to reduce it just a tiny bit was by changing the picture output setting from my receiver to GAME MODE. This projector really should not be used for professional competitive gaming.

4) The heat from this projector did increase the temperature in my apartment a little bit after a couple of hours. If being used during Spring, Fall and Winter it won’t be a bit issue since the cold from the outside will make the heat dissipate fast. Now during hot sticky heatwave Summer months, make sure you have your windows open and your fan on so that you can fully enjoy what you are watching.

PROS

1) There is no rainbow effects when watching movies and fast moving images since the is an LED projector.

2) After using this projector for 1 month and leaving it on an average 15 hours per day, I was very impatient to see my electricity bill to see if there was going to be a big difference. I really thought my hydro bill was going to dramatically increase by 20$ or even 30$! To my very big surprise it stayed about the same compared to when I was using my Samsung 55-inch B6 OLED. I would even go as far as saying that it is even cheaper because I never left my 55-inch B6 OLED on for 15 hours daily because of the risk of burn-in.

3) This projector is amazing when watching amine and cartoons. It also does a really descent job when watching Netflix movies after changing the aspect ratio setting to Just Scan.

4) The 85-inch image I get from 9 feet away really creates an immersion experience.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion after upgrading my Netflix plan to 4k, the 85-inch picture I was seeing for the price of 230$ was very descent (not factoring the 250$ screen cost). It felt like a cinema at home. The Youtube reviewers who said that this projector’s strength is its picture quality for the price point were not lying.

Eventhough my 2004 40-inch 720p Samsung TV had better color vibrancy and sharpness, I still would pick the 85 inch image from this projector any day of the week because of the sense of emersion it creates. As a matter of fact, when I was testing the new Call Of Duty on my old 40 inch Samsung TV, the 40 inch screen was such a turnoff that I had to force myself to finish the online match. The only thing my old 40-inch TV is good for is for a PC monitor on a desk to browse the internet and watching Youtube videos.

What about compared to my 55 inch B6 OLED? That answer is a tougher call. For watching movies at night, without a shadow of a doubt the Vankyo V630 wins because of the emersion factor. Now for playing online multiplayer games like Call Of Duty Modern Warfare and Halo, my 55 inch OLED B6 is still king without a shadow of doubt since there is no lag issues and the picture quality of the OLED just reign supreme.

Now keep in mind I’ve never owned a projector before therefore I am planning on getting a more expensive one in the 2000$ range so that I can compare the image quality. Please bookmark this page since I will update this review and compare both projectors to see if there is a major difference between a budget projector and midrange projector.

The only thing that can change that is if I manage to buy the 98-inch Sony Z9G TV for 90,000$ which has 4000 nits of brightness!

My Review On 10 Body Washes I Tried In 2019 (Updated List)

Around a year ago I stopped using soap bars and switched to body washes and the only thing that I can say with certainty is that there is no going back. Rubbing the soap against the washcloth to make it really soapy takes me a good 2 minutes. I know 2 minutes does not sound like a lot but the main reason was that my arms were always getting tied afterwards. I don’t go to take a shower to exercise! Especially when I just came from the gym! I shower for the same reason as everybody else but I don’t want to spend more time in the shower than I have to.

First and foremost, if you’ve never used a body wash before let me tell you that it is a huge time saver! You enter the shower, take 10 seconds to get your body completely wet with water, you squeeze the desire amount of body wash on the washcloth and voila! In only 20 seconds you are ready to start the washing process! The only downside is that a bottle of body wash is more expensive compared to soap bars. Nonetheless you should know by now that time is priceless!

That being said all body washes are not created equal. During that 1 year I tried several body washes and I had mixed experiences which I am going to share below. I am going to get straight to the point for the ones I had the chance to try so this will be a quick review. I am going to list from worst to best. As I try new ones in the near future, I will update this page so be warned that the positions on this list will change. So Here We Go:

0) Dove shower foam; cucumber and green tea scent

So, we are going to start this list with a warning which definitively does not deserve to be on the top 10. This was the worst offender and the biggest disappointment for me. When I bought it, I was so sure that I was going to love it for some reason. Now it is not called body wash but instead shower foam but that is not the reason which I am going to explain. The reason for disliking this one is because once I finished showering and was drying myself with the towel, my skin started itching. This type of itch was from dehydration. I know this because I used to soap bars before which had the same result. It removed the natural oil from my skin. There is no moisturizer in Dove shower foam. Stay away!

10) Ivory Clean body wash gentle clean trusted for generations

This one did a good job but it was not foamy at all and made the tub water slippery when rinsed off.

9) Ivory Free & Gentle; dye and paraben free PH balanced made with essential oils; with scent of sweet pea and lily

This one was also a big offender but not for the same reason as Dove shower foam. I could feel the moisturizer as I was rubbing myself with the washcloth but as I was rinsing, I almost fell because the tub water was very slippery. Nonetheless since it did a good job, I only use it for my face and switch to another body wash for the rest of my body. So be warned! This makes the water very slippery when rinsing.

8) Aveeno active naturals; stress relief body wash; with lavender, chamomile and yland-ylang

I had the same issue with this one. Makes the water just too slippery when rinsing because it contains a lot of moisturizer. I only use it for my face.

7) Olay hydrating clean; almond milk

Same with this one. Good but slippery water when rinsing.

6) Old Spice Swagger; 8 hours scent technology

This was the first body wash I tried because I previously used Old Spice’s Fiji scent soap bars which gave me some OK results. Not to forget because of the funny commercials with Terry Cruse and other guys riding on horses. I was satisfied with it until I tried the other ones below this list. It smells great with many scent options, does not make the tub water slippery when rinsing but it does leave the skin a little dry afterwards. No longer my favorite body wash and I won’t be buying it anymore since there are better ones but the TV commercials are unbeatable and straight up GENIUS!!!!

5) Axe 2 in 1 body & hair wash clean + fresh

This one is also a surprise for me because I though I was going to get the same results as the Old Spice bodywash. I does everything almost perfectly most importantly the rinsing water was not slippery at all and it was very foamy which I very much love. Nonetheless my skin felt a little dehydrated afterwards.

4) Beauty & Planet; coconut & ylang ylang; tropical hydration

This one does the same great job as Ivory Free & Gentle, Aveeno Active Naturals and Olay Hydrating Clean plus it does not make the water as slippery when rinsing. No need to worry too much about slipping and falling!

3) Irish Spring GEAR; with volcanic minerals

This one is the biggest surprise on this list. It’s the same story as Dove shower foam but the opposite. I really thought I was going to hate it because of the volcanic minerals in it and also the fact that I’ve used the Irish Spring soap bars before and they left my skin very dry after showering. But to my surprise that was not the case with this body wash. It smelled great, rinse nicely and does not make the tub water slippery. Not to forget it does all that for 3 bucks!

2) J.R. Watkins daily moisturizing; grape fruit scent

This one is on the expensive side at 8$ but it was just amazing in every possible way. I will always buy it in bundles once it goes on sale. Nonetheless because of the price I will have to opt for the Irish Spring since at 3$ it gave me the best bang for my buck and pretty much the same results for half of the price. Still, I highly recommend it!!!

1) Dove Men+ Care

This one was number one on a Youtuber’s list. According to the Youtuber It supposedly wash well, rinse off clean and does everything right. So, I wanted to test it for myself. Well, he was right. I does all that plus the rinsing tub water was not slippery at all. On the bottle is says that it includes Micro Moisture and my skin was less moisturized (smooth) after rinsing compared to the J.R. Watkins bodywash. I guess micro means less but that did not bother me because my skin was not dry. Nevertheless, it still deserves the first second spot because it does everything perfectly and at 4$ its half the price of the J.R. Watkins body wash.

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 review: 6 out of 10 at best!!!!

Call of Duty Black Ops 4 came out on October 12, 2018 and I’ve waited 6 months to write this review hence to give it the benefit out the doubt. At first I was not going to buy and support this game because Treyarch decided to remove the single player campaign. I don’t like buying these types of games because a few years down the line they become a sitting brick once the multiplayer dies out. Just take a look at Call of Duty 2 and 3 on the Xbox 360; the servers are still up and running but good luck trying to find a multiplayer game. At least they had a campaign which gives it something you can go back and play for nostalgia purposes. The only other game I’ve bought which did not include a campaign is Star Wars Battlefront on the Xbox One. I end up buying it because it was on sale at the end of August 2017 for 7 bucks which is a massive discount compared to its original price of 40$ and the fact it was the complete edition with all the maps. It was more of a curiosity thing because I’ve heard that the ambiance in the 40 players multiplayer is amazing if you have a surround sound. Since I’ve just upgraded my surround system I wanted to know what it felt and sounds like. It was a simplistic first person shooter which I had some fun for a while.

Anyways back to Black Ops 4. After reading raving reviews upon its release and watching live streams of other players playing it, I decided that maybe I should give it a try but still I wanted to stand by my standards. So after The Game Awards which took place back in December 6 2018, Black Ops 4 went on sale. I end up buying the Digital Deluxe version of the game which includes the season pass and 2400 points.

My first weeks with the game were amazing. The character movement control, gun feels and aiming, sound effects, HDR-10 graphic and the new Blackout Mode were all a 10 out of 10. Blackout is simply a Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds (PubG) killer hence I like it even more than Fortnite. During that period I had so much fun that I totally did not care that there was no campaign. And to comfort myself there are some offline Specialists Missions which did include some cut scenes and a Zombie Mode which I can play solo so the game won’t be a total sitting brick in a few years.

But afterwards reality started settling in as new DLC multiplayer maps were released. The maps were just plain generic and uninspired with a 3 lanes layout making them all feel the same. As a matter of fact, the best maps of the game are the ones from the previous Black Ops games which includes Nuketown, Firing Range, Summit, Jungle, Slums and WMD. Elevation, Frequency, Morocco and Gridlock are some of the better maps but Casino is big and generic and Madagascar is just plain terrible because it is a big map which I spend most of my time running around to find an enemy to kill. On the other hand I thought Artifact was a fantastic map. Nonetheless every time I am in the multiplayer lobby, I always have my fingers crossed that I would get to play some of the original maps. This is the first Call of Duty that this ever happened. None of the new maps are memorable but they are not 100% terrible either (beside Madagascar).

I know many players have different opinions but this is the deal; when I log in online to play Call of Duty I want to rack some kills and have an amazing ambiance experience just like Black Ops 1, Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 1, 2 and 3. I don’t play Call of Duty to have a Battlefield 4 experience which I spend most of my time running around on foot covering a vast area. In other words I like small maps because things happen quickly and more often. Why do you think Nuketown is so popular? Not to forget the Shipment map from Modern Warfare 4!!!!!

Now DLC 4 is still to come so hopefully it will include more of the classic maps that we all loved and hopefully the newer maps will be inspired from the designs of the classic maps. But as it stands the game is a 6 out of 10 for me!!!!

My Honest Review on Avengers: End Game! Did this movie live up to the hype? (Warning Spoilers)

Source: http://www.impawards.com/2019/avengers_endgame_ver2.html

Blu-ray movies for me are not like video games because I watch them once and afterwards only a selected few will pique my interest to watch again in the near future. But Avengers Infinity War is one of those exceptions. On April 27, 2018 something really special happened. It was the release of Avengers Infinity War. In my opinion that movie was a 10 out of 10. It kept me interested throughout the whole adventure with great transitions, non-stop action scenes, funny moments (Where is Gamora, Who is Gamora…I got a better one for you WHY IS GAMORA), sad deaths and a cliffhanger ending that left me craving for the conclusion. So after 1 year of speculations and high anticipations Avengers: End Game was finally released on April 26, 2019. So did it live up to the hype? Lets find out.

If you don’t know by now Avenger End Game has shattered many records since it made 1.2 billion worldwide on its opening weekend and has surpassed Titanic which was the 2nd grossed movie of all time. The only thing left for it to do to become number one is to beat Avatar’s box office numbers. All that was only possible because of Infinity War’s cliffhanger ending. So was it worth it? My honest opinion is it was a good movie but not a great masterpiece like Infinity War. So what should End Game have done to make it a masterpiece?

1) First of all the opening of the movie was wrong. What they should of done is that they should of opened the movie with 5 minutes showing the pure chaos Thanos has created on the regular civilians after he snapped his fingers with the gauntlet. I am talking about starting the movie with Nick Fury’s scene before he paged Captain Marvel which we saw in the end credits of Infinity War and expanding it. Car Accidents, helicopters smashing into skyscrapers, air planes dropping from the sky, nuclear plant meltdowns, total chaos of civilians panicking running in the streets, people searching for their love ones and live news broadcast anchors yelling and panicking in tears not knowing what to say and report. All those would of would of made a breathtaking opening before transitioning to Hawkeye hanging with his family and teaching his daughter how to use a bow and arrow afterwards realizing what was going on.

2) When the final battle was happening in the movie, they should of included the X-Men. Just imagined how cool it would of been if Wolverine, Cyclops, Beast, Rogue, Strom and Gambit had their one minute of fame with a well-choregraphed ass kicking on the battlefield while the 1993 cartoon opening theme music was playing. This would of been really good for fan service.

3) I wish Galactus would of got somehow involved. Even though Scarlet Witch and Captain Marvel gave Thanos a good fight, Thanos did managed to get the gauntlet at the end. Iron Man should of only been able to take the Soul Stone leaving Thanos with the rest of the stones on the gauntlet. While Thanos beat the Avengers one after one with the incomplete gauntlet while trying to get the Soul Stone, Galactus should of entered making it one colossal memorable battle while showing Thanos’ pure strength and intelligence with the incomplete gauntlet.

I hope my point of view was helpful to you 🙂

DX Racer King Series (OH/KS57/NG) vs Wide Series (GC-W06-N-Z3): Which chair is better? Here is my review!

Over a year ago I upgraded my computer chair by buying a DX Racer King Series. The black KS57 to be exact. And oh boy, after sitting in this chair for about 5 minutes the difference was very noticeable. My posture was well aligned and the cushion behind my neck felt great when I want to lean back and just relax for a few minutes. This chair was crafted by people who know what they are doing! It is a very high quality chair that cost around 469 USD.

Now I own a second computer on a separate desk and I was going to buy another black and grey King Series but DX racer came out with a new series called the Wide Series which is very similar to the King Series since it is made for heavy and tall individuals. So while visiting my local computer store I sat in a Wide Series chair for a few minutes and it felt great. So I bought it and it cost around 120$ less than my King Series.

So after a few hours of sitting in both chairs I noticed some very interesting things which perhaps explains why one chair is cheaper than the other. So here are the pros and cons of both models:

1) The seat cushion in the King Series chair is noticeably more comfortable. It is more firm than the King Series.

2) The head pillow in the King Series is more comfortable because it stays in place all the time since it is well attached to the middle holes at the top of the chair. The Wide Series has no middle holes so the head pillow has to be strap around its top.

3) The King Series chair can lean backwards and can maintain that position by adjusting the left lever at the bottom of the chair. The Wide Series can also lean backwards but it does not have a left lever to maintain a steady lean back angle position. Its right lever only allow you to change its height and use it like a rocking chair but not locking it at an angle.

4) The Wide Series is more suitable for shorter individuals since it can be lowered more than the King Series. But that is not an excuse since it is less comfortable. So to fix this issue all you need to do is buy a foot stool.

5) The armrests of the King Series are more comfortable since they are higher and the material is a little bit wider.

6) The way your back will feel in both chair is different. The back of the Wide Series chair is narrower compared to the King Series chair which is wider. So if your frame is skinny you will feel comfortable in the Wide Series chair but if your frame is obese like 300 pounds you definitively should pick the King Series. Nonetheless the King Series is 100% more comfortable because it can be tilt backwards at whatever angle and maintain that position. The Wide Series for some odd reason is more tilt toward the front. I had to put a piece of folded leather underneath to make it somewhat straight.

The DX Racer Wide Series straighten with a piece of folded leather.

7) The seating area of the King Series measures at 19 inches long by 16 inches wide. The seating area of the Wide Series measures 21 inches long by 13 inches wide. Nevertheless the sides of the seat which stops you from sliding are less elevated in the Wide Series so your seating will fell less cluster phobic as far that the 13 inches sound. I’m 5’7 and currently weight 260 pounds and I can say that the King Series seat fit me better. Furthermore the frame of the King Series is heavier and more robust so it tend to slide less while seating in front of your PC.

Many other reviewers may say that if you are shorter, taller, skinnier or fatter these are things that needs to be taken in consideration before buying a DX racer chair. Since they are many other models than King and Wide Series they would recommend that you visit DX Racer’s official website to get the proper measurements and to see which style and color better fit your taste. But I am telling you from experience to skip all that process and buy the King Series because it is perfect in every way!!!! Except maybe if it could be lowered a few inches more.

So which chair is the clear winner?

Update December 20 2017!!!!
After seating in both chairs for more than a year I have to declare that the King Series OH/KS57/NG chair is the ultimate supreme winner because I can tilt the chair backwards and maintain that position, the head pillow stays firmly in place and the seat as well as the back are more spacious. At first I thought that I like the soft seat cushion of the Wide Series more but after a while the firm cushion in the King Series is way more comfortable and won’t go flat for a long time. There is no need to create a highbred from both chairs because after careful evaluation, noting and months of seating the King Series chair will definitively bring some well needed relief to your back. As a matter of fact I would even go as far to say that you shouldn’t even bother checking other chairs on the DX Racer’s site. The King Series just does everything right!!!!!!!

The Best Background Music Player For The Xbox One: BMP Is 90% Better Than Simple Background Music Player!

I bought myself the 2tb Xbox One S Gears Of War 4 Edition last black Friday 2016 and I’ve been playing Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare, Modern Warfare Remastered, Battlefield 1 and Gears Of War 4 like crazy. I like to listen to my own library of music while playing these games on Xbox Live which I know that it is something a lot of other players do because I can hear their music playing through their mic (mostly Hip Hop).

So at fist there wasn’t really any choices because background music is something that was first implemented in August 2016 even though the console came out years earlier. It’s kind of weird because that was not the case for the Xbox 360. So back in August 2016 Microsoft released a bunch of apps to play music on the Xbox One and I tried most of them and the only one that somewhat got the job done is called Simple Background Music Player. It’s a free app which after using for a few days I realized it came with some limitations. But I had no other choice that is until April 2017 when other app surfaced called Background Music Player BMP. BMP only cost 1.29$ but luckily before buying it I was able to try it for free for 24 hours. And after those 24 hours I was sold. Here are the things I liked and disliked about Background Music Player BMP:

Pros

1) The other free version called Simple Background Music Player will only load 200 songs from your USB while BMP has no such limit. So you can put an unlimited number of songs on your USB stick and play them all!

2) BMP has a better shuffle. While listening to my USB which contains more than 600 tracks the songs does not repeat themselves in shuffle mode.

3) The user interface even displays the image of the album cover of the song.

4) I don’t have to name my songs’ folder “Xbox Music Library” unlike the free one.

5) After a good 12 hours straight of playing my music library I am happy to say that BMP never crashed on me.

Here’s a screenshot of Background Music Player BMP on Xbox One

Cons

1) I cannot rewind or fast forward a song while it is playing.

2) It would be nice if the background songs could also be from an Internet Radio, Sirius XM or a local radio station.

3) Even though it never crashed on me while playing my songs, if I pause a song and exit the screen to do something else, when I come back to the BMP screen trying to resume my song BMP would crash. Hopefully this issue will get a fix in a future update!

Conclusion

BMP is available for 1.29$ from the Xbox One app store and it is highly recommended. For me personally at that price point I can’t really complain since it solved all the major limitations I had with my first free app such as the number of songs that could be loaded, the shuffling issue and lastly, even if this one is not very important, I can name my music folder whatever I want. The disadvantages are not important enough unless you really hate pausing your song and coming back to find out it can’t be resume. Like I said earlier I’m sure this will get solved in a future update. Now wither that is a deal breaker is up to you!

LG OLED55B6P TV Review: Is It Really One of 2016’s Best TV or It’s Just Hype?

I just can’t believe it has been 10 years since I bought my first high definition television which was the 40 inch Samsung LN-R408D. I remember buying it so that I could watch high definition movies in 720P and 1080P which were novelties and very hot topics back then. But more specifically I bought it because of the Xbox 360 console so I could play the new games in high definition. Ah oh boy I had some very good memories late nights back in 2007 and 2008 playing Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare on Xbox Live.

So a decade have gone by and now there is a new high definition coming to standard which is called 4K (2160p). So now that 4k is becoming mainstream I decided to keep the same tradition and upgrade my TV and console around the same time. More importantly August 2nd 2016 saw the release of the Xbox One S (an upgrade from the Xbox One released back in November 22 2013) which can output HDR and 4k from Netflix and via its 4K Blu-Ray disc drive.

So is the LG OLED55B6P worth it?

So I’ve been playing with this TV for almost 2 months and the answer to that question is a definitive YES but there is some issues. Here are the pros and cons of this TV:

Pros

1) The picture quality of this TV is second to none when watching 4K and even 1080p HDR content running at a high frame rate. The visual spectacle is a true work of art hence the eighth wonder of the world!

2) OLED TVs have an infinite contrast ratio because they can produce true black. That is because the pixels individually turn on and off unlike the LED technology which uses a backlit panel. This means that the colors pop more.

3) And speaking of colors my old TV from 2006 could output 16 million colors. The OLED55B6P can output more than a billion colors! This makes for a more rich viewing experience.

4) Adding to the vivid 16 billion colors this TV has something called High Dynamic Range (HDR) which produce even more details when the content was filmed or the game was created properly. Currently there are 2 HDRs battling for supremacy (similar to HD-DVD and Blu-Ray from a decade ago) called HDR-10 and Dolby Vision and this TV support both. Really good HDR mixed with a wide color gamut and 4K is very noticeable and is really the selling point here. Here’s a video from Linus Tech Tips to showcase this:

5) Playing Xbox One games on this TV brings tears of joy to my eyes. Even some Xbox 360 games looks good on this TV such as Ninja Gaiden 2, Dante’s Inferno and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. I can’t wait next year to see what the games from the Project Scorpio (the new more powerful gaming console from Microsoft) will look like running in native 4K and HDR!

6) The design of this TV is gorgeous compare to its siblings the E6, C6 and G6. That is just my personal preference because I don’t like the curve of the C6 and don’t need the speakers at the bottom of the G6 and E6. Why pay more for something you don’t need or like?

7) Watching Netflix movies and shows is good when True Motion is turn ON. Netfix movies looks way much better when watching on the Xbox One S compare to the Xbox 360.

8) Input lag was my main concern before buying this TV and I am happy to say that I did not notice anything significant or different while playing on Xbox Live.

Cons

1) Sometimes perfection can create problems. The motion on this TV is so good that watching low frame content or playing low frame games creates something that can be perceived as judder. For movies and TV shows this can be fixed by turning on True Motion but the movies will look like if you are watching a soap opera!

Update: Microsoft has released an update on December 4th on the Xbox One which greatly improve the judder issue when True Motion is off. Although not perfect it is still a great improvement!

Update: There is a user setting where I can increase and decrease the judder from 1 to 10. I set the user judder to 2 and got a cleaner motion without the soap opera look!!!!!

2) This TV does not have 3D capabilities compare to its other siblings. Now I am not worrying too much because the 3D craze was failure and a lot of new TVs are removing that feature. Nonetheless I would like to experience Star Wars: The Force Awakens in 3D in my living room. So why didn’t I just bought the E6? Because I like the look of the B6 better. As a matter of fact I was tempted to buy LG’s 2015 OLED model called the EF9600 which had the look I like and 3D but the 2016 models are more refined and supports both HDRs while the 2015 models only support HDR-10.

3) Watching regular DVDs on this TV does not look as good compared to a 720P TV.

4) Just like plasma televisions, this TV suffers from temporary image retention and possible image burn-in issues if a static image is left for too long. You really should not use it as a PC monitor!

5) Although 4K is the new thing, it is very hard to notice the differences between 4K and 1080p on a 55 inch screen. But on a 65 inch and above and if you are sitting close enough you will notice a slight difference. That slight difference is not as dramatic like a decade ago when I switched from 480i to 1080p.

Conclusion

Because I am mostly playing games, the image quality is outstanding, the 43 second input lag did not affect my online gaming experience and in my case I desperately needed a new TV because my 2006 Samsung was just not holding up anymore, I can say this TV was definitely worth it. But if you have a TV that is less than 5 years old and is still working fine I would recommend that you wait for the cons of the current OLEDs to be fixed. LG will release new OLED models in 2017 (W7, G7, E7, C7, B7) as well as Panasonic and Sony. If they are better you should go for any one of them but if not or if you don’t want to wait you can buy the LG OLED55B6P from Amazon from the link below.

Xbox One S review – Is Microsoft’s slimmer video game console worth buying?

Since I was a teenager I’ve always wanted a video game console and I can’t begin to tell you the joy I had finally owning my first console which was a Playstation One. Afterwards I had all the popular ones like the Playstation 2, the original Xbox, Dreamcast and Game Cube.

Then in November 22 2005 the Xbox 360 came out and there was a shortage of consoles nationwide. Nonetheless I managed to get my hands on one before Christmas. This console truly brought things to the next level because it was the first console that could output High Definition video game resolutions such 720P and 1080P, the online capability was robust and the home dashboard was outstanding. Additionally some of my biggest wishes for a console came true such as the ability to turn it on and off via the controller and playing background music while competing online. In 2007 I was so in love with my Xbox 360 console because of Call of Duty 4 and later Call of Duty Black Ops 2 that I told myself that I was never going let it go.

So in November 2013, the Xbox One came out and I did not buy it. I kept true to my words because I was so comfortable with my Xbox 360 and furthermore there was no real good games that was enticing me to get one. I was still very much enjoying Call of Duty Black Ops 2 on my Xbox 360.

Then around E3 2016 I’ve heard that the remastered version of Call of Duty 4 was coming out bundled with Call Of Duty Infinite Warfare. Even more exciting was the fact that Microsoft was coming out with a refined Xbox One called Xbox One S (the S stand for slim) which had additional features such as a 4k Blu-Ray player, High Dynamic Range (HDR), 4k video streaming via Netflix, Youtube and others, a 40% slimmer design, 4k upscaling and much more.

microsoft-xbox-one-s-consoleSo I had the Xbox One S for about 3 months and oh boy after playing with it I can’t believe what I was missing. It is such an amazing upgrade that I’ve pushed aside my Xbox 360 (the console I loved so much). I am not going into technical specifications but know that the Xbox One S is much more powerful than the Xbox 360. So these are the things I liked about the Xbox One S:

1) I am now able to play over 200 songs in my background music compared to 67 on the Xbox 360.

Update May 2017: The new Background Music Player (BMP) app allows me to play an unlimited number of songs

2) Everything loads faster because the Xbox One S has a quad-core processor with 8 gigs of DDR3 rams compared to the 500 megabits of the Xbox 360.

3) The games looks even more amazing compared to the Xbox 360 graphics, especially on my 55 inch 4k OLED LG TV. That is because it is 5.5 time more powerful than the Xbox 360!

4) Since I’ve own many consoles I can say without any doubt that the Xbox One S controller has been refined close to perfection. It fit great in my hands and is even an improvement over the Xbox 360 controller which I though was a perfect controller. Hence it is the best controller even if some other online polls revealed otherwise (sorry Playstation 4).

5) I can now connect an external hard drive to expand the storage in case I run out of room to save games.

6) More files format are now supported so there is no need to convert my music and video files like I had to do with my Xbox 360.

7) The Xbox One S disc drive is way much quieter compared to the Xbox 360.

8) It is backward compatible with some Xbox 360 games and the list of games in the backward compability list gets updated every few months.

Now the Xbox One S is not perfect hence these are the few things that I did not like:

1) Every time you put in a new game you have to install a patch on the hard drive which takes around half an hour.

2) If you are buying popular games via Xbox live some of the titles with their more current updates with season pass DLC are nearly 100 gigs such as Halo 5 Guardians and Call Of Duty Black Ops 3. So for people with slow internet connection this can be problematic. Just to give you an idea I have an high speed internet connection of 15 megabits per second download and 1 megabit per second upload. With that speed I manage to download around 5 gigabits of data per hour from the marketplace. So it took me around 20 hours to download Call Of Duty Black Ops 3 and another 20 hours for Halo 5 Guardians. The good news is that you do not have to keep your Xbox One S on while downloading. Just make sure you change the energy setting mode and your downloads will keep on going while your Xbox One S is off.

3) The Xbox One S is not backward compatible with the games from the original Xbox which came out back in November 15, 2001.

Should you buy the Xbox One S?

A) If you have a new 4k TV, want a good console to have fun and want to enjoy some 4k HDR Blu-Ray movies this Christmas than the Xbox One S offers some great performance with the best bang for your buck. 299$ for the 500 gig version with a 4k Blu-Ray player is a good deal because a standalone 4k Blu-Ray player is more expensive. That being said if you are going to play a lot of games you should definitively get the 2 terabit version because you will run out of room very quick with the 500 gigabit version.

B) If you don’t have a 4k TV and have no intention to get one than the regular Xbox One will do fine. But a note of caution make sure that you should get the Xbox One with the 1 terabit hard drive if you are going to play a lot of games. I have 5 games on my 500 gig Xbox One S and I only have around 6 gig left. Nonetheless you can always buy an external Xbox One hard drive to expand your storage.

C) One other thing that need to be noted is that Microsoft will launch a new console next year called Project Scorpio which is even much more powerful than the Xbox One S. Additionally all the Xbox One games will be backward compatible on the Project Scorpio. So if you are patient you should wait for that one but be aware that Microsoft has called the Project Scorpio a premium console so it will surely be more than double the price of the Xbox One S when it launch.

D) One last thing is that all Xbox One games can be played on your PC with Windows 10. Nonetheless your PC must meet minimum requirements and some games like Gears of War 4 demands a minimum of 8 gigs of rams and a decent graphic card. And even if you build a new PC yourself to be as powerful as the Xbox One S you will not be able to buy all the new components for a total of 300$.

Conclusion

So with all that being said the advantages of owing an Xbox One S far outweighs the disadvantages. So if you do not have one already it will be worth every penny!
